In Cypriot law, the renunciation of inheritance and the gift are different legal procedures.

If the purpose is to transfer the property to a specific person, the heir must first accept the inheritance, and then issue a gift through the land office. Renunciation of rights does not allow the redistribution of shares between relatives.
