The court of first instance of Athens in the decision No 2937/2026 forbade the owner of the company to use an apartment in an apartment building for short-term professional rent. The violation will result in a 1000 EUR fine for each violation. The court found that the work in the Airbnb format disturbed the peace of neighbors and affected the operation of the entire building. According to the rules of the house, apartments are only for living and can not be used as hotels. The decision was made due to a rise in the number of such properties in Greece ahead of major reforms to apartment building legislation, which have not changed since 1929.
