Portugal has already allocated 1.5 billion euros for the construction of social houses. But money is not ready-made apartments.

The budget and the EIB have agreed on a new credit limit for 50,000 municipal housing units. This is plus 2.8 billion from the state budget until 2030. The financial scale has changed dramatically.

However, turning numbers into bricks is not easy. The cost of construction increased by almost 7% over the year. We need land, permits and labor. If the industry is not tightened along with funding, prices will skyrocket again.

Success is no longer measured in numbers, but in the speed at which keys are given to families.
