Pestana plans apartment resort at Porto Covo

Construction of the Pestana Porto Covo Beach Residences was scheduled to begin in September near Praia Grande on the Alentejo coast. The current plan is for 236 tourist apartments in a gated development. Carvoeiro Construções, part of the Pestana Group, is expected to carry out the work.

The design uses natural materials and earthy colours to reduce its visual impact. Advertised apartments range from about 69 to 90 square metres, with some asking prices starting near €665,000. Planned facilities include a gym, restaurant, beach club and pools. The site is within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park.
