This year's Festival da Sardinha returns to the Portuguese pearl of Portimoy with free concerts and delicious strips from the Algarve.

On August 4-9, visitors can enjoy live music, local cuisine and family entertainment for free. Portuguese gastronomic associations prepare the famous festival dish - grilled sardines in the amount of €12.50 for a company of 5 fish, bread, seafood and salad from the Algarve.

It's not just food: participating associations hand out free checks for two pearls in a bun and a drink for visitors.

Day after day, the festival kicks off at 7:30 p.m., when local deli showcases innovative recipes from famous Portuguese cooks. The festival ends with Xutos & Pontapé, a legendary Portuguese rock band, closing on August 9.

As part of this event, a performance and outdoor entertainment are also held in various places of the city.

For families with children, Petinga Park is open - a children's area, where fascinating master classes work throughout the city.

The festival is important to the city as a cultural and tourist brand that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Portuguese gastronomic associations help support local organizations and promote regional cuisine.
