€800m Crete resort project advances to final approval stage
Elounda Hills on Crete has entered the final stages of regulatory approval. The development spans 950 acres with views over Mirabello Bay and the island of Spinalonga. Developer Mirum Hellas has already secured the Final Design Compliance File, signalling technical readiness for construction.
The first phase will cost €300 million. Work will begin with the HILLTOP zone—the resort's centrepiece, featuring hotels, spas and restaurants. Simultaneously, Marina Village will be developed, comprising boutique hotels, beach clubs and moorings. The project has enlisted major Greek contractors AKTOR and Domiki Kritis through an Early Contractor Involvement scheme, a rare arrangement in Greece.
Construction is expected to accelerate in 2027–2028, with completion targeted for the end of the decade. The resort will feature international brands including 1 Hotels. The project is forecast to create hundreds of jobs and strengthen Crete's position in the luxury tourism market.
