Rubber has doubled in price: refueling now costs millions. In Portugal, fuel eats up to 40% of freight costs, and that puts pressure on store shelves.

Companies have to charge more, and supermarkets have warned that prices will rise in a month. Meat and eggs are especially affected - they are compressed not only by gasoline, but also by the rise in price of animal feed.

Portuguese carriers are losing competition with the Spanish, who receive state support. And the new restrictions on the movement of trucks in Porto can add another 60 km to the routes and force to pay again for fuel.
