🇬🇷Greece Issue No. 334

Greece imposes strict regulations on hotels and Airbnb. The new state plan divides tourist areas into five categories with different restrictions.

In congested areas where the pressure is maximum, the construction of new hotels is now only possible on sites of at least 16 acres. On ordinary islands, the threshold is reduced to eight acres, but new hotels there will not exceed 100 rooms.

It will also ban building closer to 25 meters to the sea and expanding housing without taking into account the environment. Build new only if there is space: old buildings should be updated, not demolished.
