The Portuguese tax regime IFICI (NHR 2.0) gives residents a benefit of up to 10 years.

Unlike the old system, eligibility for benefits is now checked annually. Applicants must prove a real job in the country: have lived there for 183 days or have permanent residence there by December 31. Registration is not enough.

There are six ways to get under the benefit: from teachers in universities to employees of startups and companies with an export focus. Income from such activities is taxed at a rate of only 20% instead of the progressive 48%, and some foreign dividends can be exempt from tax.

It is important to have time to submit documents on January 15 next year. Missing the term and you lose benefits for the entire period.
