Portugal's tourism grew in July despite fewer US visitors

Portugal's tourism sector continued to grow in July: overnight stays increased by 2.1%. Accommodation establishments welcomed 3.4 million guests, while revenue rose by almost 5% to €923.7 million. The UK remained the largest foreign market; US visitors generated almost 5.5 million overnight stays in 2025, making it the third-largest international market.

US overnight stays declined by 3.1% in July. Alentejo, meanwhile, recorded growth of 7.7%. The average daily room rate reached €154.9.
