🇵🇹Portugal
Issue No. 296
Viseu was the first city outside Lisbon and Porto to offer free transportation. From September 1, residents over 24 years old pay only 5 euros for a card, and then go for free.
Mayor Jose Azevedo’s initiative is aimed at supporting the environment and unloading roads, which the authorities consider a strategic investment in the quality of life. The program operates on all buses in the region, including MUV and VDL operators.
The city now leads the domestic municipalities, fully funding free transportation for its citizens.
