🇵🇹Portugal
Issue No. 254
In the Algarve, tourists pay more than just for accommodation. Seven municipalities have a separate night fee.
Amounts and terms vary depending on the location. For example, Albufeira charges 2 euros per person per night for those over 13. You will have to pay a maximum of seven consecutive days from April to October. The money goes to security and infrastructure development.
In Lagoa, the price is also 2 euros in peak season and drops to one euro in winter. In Lula, the collection helps maintain public spaces, and in Portimao, a seasonal system works. The total cost of rest can vary even for neighboring cities.
