The best option is heat pumps with a warm floor and solar panels. They generate energy during the day when it is hot and store it in batteries for night use. This reduces costs and carbon footprint.

Also do not forget about the insulation of the attic and multi-chamber windows. Thermal insulation is cheaper than glass, but keeps the summer cool just as effectively.
