The vineyards have just started cleaning. According to the head of CVRA, there are all conditions for high quality and supply of products in demand.
“Our forecast will depend on the availability of normal conditions for this time of year,” Sequeira said.
According to him, this year a good harvest of wine is expected, while the grapes are in excellent physical shape.
Although the forecasts are always subjective, if you have a very high temperature in the second half of August – it can negatively affect the forecast.
New technologies will also be used to control the quality of wine. This will help reduce losses and improve product quality.
“This year, we plan to test several technological innovations: a project to follow agricultural production from start to finish, as well as the use of satellite imagery to control the quality of wine,” said Luís Sequeira.
Despite the fact that the wine production in Alentege has long established itself as a leading export portfolio, this year’s harvest is expected to be even more interesting.
According to CVRA, 30% of all products will be exported, the main consumers will be Brazil, Switzerland, the USA, the UK and Poland.
