For 46,800 euros, you can buy a 100-square house in Portugal - that's just where it is.
The Portuguese portal idealista analyzed the prices of real estate in all municipalities of the country. The result is unexpected: while in Lisbon and on the coast, prices bite, in the interior real estate is worth a penny.
The cheapest municipality is Sabugal in Guarda County. There, a square meter costs just €468. For this price, 100 sq m will cost about €46,800. Slightly more expensive in Penamacore (€488/sqm) and Pampilloza da Serra (€495/sqm). The top 25 most budget places were mainly small towns and rural areas of northeastern Portugal - Guarda, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Braganza.
If your goal is to invest with a minimum initial investment, these regions are worth considering. Yes, the infrastructure there is more modest than on the coast. But the growing interest of foreigners in residence permits and remote work is gradually changing the market even in the outback.
