About 15 million euros have already been invested, making it the largest infrastructure upgrade in the region in a long time. Minister of Agriculture and the Sea Jose Manuel Fernandez checked the progress of work: now the system will be powered by solar panels, and the old tank is kept at 82% capacity.
The population of the Algarve and the agrarians are waiting for the second phase of the project with a possible increase in investments up to 40 million euros. This will help the region survive during repeated droughts.
