🇵🇹Portugal
Issue No. 289
Inflation in Portugal is accelerating again. According to the National Institute of Statistics, the price increase for August was 3.3% against 3.0% in July.
Fuel prices have risen so much that the overall consumer price index has risen almost entirely under their influence. In August, the change in the indicator for energy resources reached 12.2%, while core inflation, excluding food and energy, remained at 2.7%.
Final data for August will be published on September 10. While this is a preliminary estimate, but the trend is clear: gas bills are again hitting the pockets of buyers.
