Algarve nursery plans night and weekend childcare

AIPAR is building the Salta-Pocinhas nursery in Conceição de Faro, with plans to welcome children in 2027. It would be the Algarve's first nursery with extended opening hours that include nights and weekends, serving families whose work involves shifts at the airport, hospitals or hotels. The centre is intended for children up to age three.

The project has an estimated cost of €1.88 million. Faro Council contributed €800,000 and land; AIPAR had raised €500,000 from private donors and still needed about €580,000 when the project was reported in August 2026. Construction was at an advanced stage, and the design includes a central courtyard and outdoor space.
